EDUCATION & FAMILIES

Michigan’s schools face big challenges and it's up to us to address them and set all of our children up for success. Our state's achievement gap is one of the worst in the nation; too many of our students are trapped in under-performing schools. Many educators do not have the tools to teach based on the needs of their students. Teachers are not adequately paid. A good education plan will make the necessary changes to correct what has troubled our educators most.
These are the big solutions that can close the achievement gap. Schools are the backbone of our community. The future of our state depends on the future we provide our children.
Renew Our Commitment to Public Education
Our children's future is too important to continue using an outdated school funding formula. Together, we can address our educational challenges and make Michigan's next generation the brightest yet.
Renew Our Commitment to Teacher Funding
Our teachers are too important to continue being underpaid. Reforming our compensation structure is crucial to retaining our top teaching talent. The way we pay teachers sends a message to high-achieving young adults about the viability of teaching as a life-long profession. Students in high school and college need to perceive teaching as an viable career, like medicine, law, and engineering. Together, we can address our educational challenges and make Michigan's next generation the brightest yet.
